Nissan Skyline R33 GTR V Spec

This car was bought as a stock car back in 2007, it stopped like this for a further five years before having the turbos removed and rebuilt with uprated parts and a boost controller fitted. The standard engine and fuel map can cover a slight increase of boost with no problems. Unfortunately you can get carried away and the standard head gasket let go which meant that the engine and gearbox had to come out to be rebuilt. This put plans in motion to create a 500whp weekend toy, not massive compared to some of the GTR's out there but that's what funds would allow. The cylinder head was skimmed, the valves re-lapped in and new springs installed, new camshafts went in and tappet clearances redone. A Cometic MLS head gasket was installed along with an assortment of Nismo goodies. The standard exhaust manifolds were ported to take new Garrett GT2860-5 turbos, a larger Apexi intercooler was installed along with a Koyo radiator. Of course with all the engine performance up grades the handling and braking needed upgrading too in the form of BC racing coilovers, KSport 8 pot calipers and larger discs and a set of Enkei RPF1 18 x 10.5 wheels and Advan tires. Once all put back together the car was taken to MGT racing to have a Link G4 ecu fitted and be mapped, the result was 523 horse power at the hubs. Not too bad on standard internals.
